Adrian: Mid-semester break!

1 comment :
And so the mid-semester break has arrived! After nine weeks of hitting the books hard, I think it's time to enjoy a little R&R.

I mentioned in my last post that on Thursday of this week I was going to listen to Alex Malley (CEO of CPA Australia). The workshop and masterclass I attended were both excellent. He provided great insight into the difficult transition from university life into the workforce, something I'm about to embark on. His message of building a big life, pushing fear and embarrassment aside, especially resonated with me. I know that I can achieve a lot, in both my personal and professional life, but I also know that to achieve this, I'll need to put my head out there, follow my dreams and accept that sometimes I may fall short. But this is okay, so long as I've given it my best shot!

As for what's to come, I think I might catch a movie tonight and enjoy some rest time this weekend. Next week I've got a couple workshops for the BUSECO PAL Leader's Program on Project Management and Leadership - I'm looking forward to these. I'll probably also have to hit the books at some stage, but I'm happy to keep that out of mind for just the time being.

As for the rest of the year, I'll enjoy my last 3 weeks of undergraduate study and hopefully my last set of exams for a while. After this, out into the real world to put my studies into practice!

To everyone heading into exams soon - I wish you all the best! And to everyone who's about to make a big change - high-school to university, university to the workforce, or job to job - I hope this a truly challenging, but rewarding transition in your life.
