Becky: One week down, eleven more to go!
The first week back at uni always feels long and tiring, and cold winter mornings definitely don’t help with early starts. But I survived, YAYYYYY!
Week one of semester was primarily introduction content for most of my classes. Lecturers provided an overview of content to be taught and highlighted other important details, such as assignments and due dates. As always, lecturers referred the class to a little manual called the ‘unit guide’.
The unit guide is every student’s best friend! Unlike high school, there’s no one at uni to tell you and remind you what the assessments are and when they are due. But our little friend – the unit guide – contains all the general information that we need to know about our classes, so if we’re ever unsure about anything, the unit guide is the first place to look.
As strange as it may sound, there’s a particular class I’m actually really looking forward to this semester. BFC3540 – Modelling in Finance. It involves learning to code and program using Excel and Visual Basic to develop skills used to apply to finance related problems. I personally think it’ll be a fun class and it’ll give me the opportunity to have a tiny taste of what IT is like and unlock the “IT geek” within me.
