Siva: O Week festivities

Hi future Monash Students. My name is Siva and I am currently waiting for my graduation scheduled in October. Yay! I’m hoping that my entries can help me share some of my experiences at uni, my final exams and what I’m looking forward to now that uni’s over.

I was a college student before going to Monash Uni, but kind of wish that I had the opportunity to go to university straight away. Even though I felt that college really helped a lot with the transition of studying in Australia, there’s so much available at uni that I feel like I’ve truly become the person I want to be.

At the start of uni, I honestly didn’t think that I had to go to another orientation because I thought I already had all the information I needed and already had friends who I got along with, but I was wrong! There’s so much to explore, and there are lots of great events going on throughout the week. An example of an O Week event is the Scavenger Hunt, which helps you familiarise yourself with a super huge campus like Clayton.

There are also heaps of fun challenges and we can’t forget the good cause in all of this. A lot of the activities run during O Week support great causes, like the Big Issue magazines, which raises awareness regarding homelessness. So get pumped and get your O Week planner ready!
